Funny story....so we decided to name him Dane Rocky. I know, Rocky was not a crowd pleaser with my facebook crowd, our family, or, well, anyone who heard it. But, for whatever reason, we liked it. With that said, as we went in the morning of his birth, I couldn't help but wonder if we should give this little guy a "real" middle name.
All doubts dispelled, when halfway through the surgery (I had a repeat C) I had bleeding (as our Dr. put it, if there was a vessel I could bleed from, I did...I've always been an overachiever :), so he asked someone to call and ask for more of something. When the person on the other line answered, we heard the person in the operating room with us say, "Dane, this is OR 1, we need ......". Ernie looked at me and asked, "Did you hear that?" How many times do you run across a Dane? We were pretty surprised to hear that Downstairs Dane was sending supplies up to help with our new little Dane.
But, that's not all...prior to surgery they'd asked me if I wanted to listen to music. Uh, yeah, I guess. Really just want to have a baby. Then they asked what I wanted to listen to....whatever is fine....again, let's just have a baby. So, they tuned to Jack FM (I only know because they told me). A little after the "Dane" incident, our Dr. said, "Can you hear what's on the radio?" Nope. So, he turned it up for us. What else but, Eye of the Tiger. Anyone who is anyone KNOWS that the Eye of the Tiger is THE song from the Rocky sagas. I love the movies AND Eye of the Tiger is one of my all time favorite songs.
Needless to say, there was NO OTHER choice for this little sweet boy's name. Dane Rocky it is!
This is one of those irresistable sleepy smiles. He does LOTS of smiling and laughing in his sleep. Gotta love this happy little guy!
P.S. Susan, do you see what he's wearing? THANKS!
Catching some shut eye on mom and dad's bed. No, the child doesn't have anything but a diaper on. And, yes, he's fine. The kid is a hot baby. But, hey, look at his parents. :)
Sleeping in his swing...prior to us discovering that he was perpetually hot in regular clothes.
