ICED PUMPKIN COOKIES
Okay, I have a friend named Jessica and until recently, hers was the only blog I really paid much attention to. Actually, hers and all the blogs attached to hers. And, THIS RECIPE is from one of her friends. I made them last night (instead of going to bed at a decent hour) and they turned out scrumpdidliumptiously. They have been on the counter since midnight and are still as moist as the moment I ate 4 of them.
If you're skeptical of pumpkin things, have no fear. I don't blame your phobia. After all, how many of us have only been fed congealed pumpkin nastiness in the form of a wanna be slimy pie at holiday times (sorry for those of you who actually LIKE pumpkin pie)? I have my own mental block with food textures and slimy pie, but these cookies really are worth a go. They are cakey and spicy and just delicious for this most perfect time of year.
If you like to gift your kids' teachers or neighbors or friends or complete strangers, then think about making this for a fun November/Thanksgiving treat. I took a plate to the boys' school this morning and individually wrapped cookies for our teachers and administrators and got rave reviews, so I guess it's not just my biased taste buds.
I have some left (believe it or not) and I think we'll have some of these festive cookies and apple cider before we hit the trick or treating trails tonight.
Try 'em, I think you'll like 'em!
