SOooooo...quite a while ago I got a wild hair and thought I'd try to find a local ranch that sells natural beef. I was already buying Laura's Lean Beef from the store and got curious about the cost of a local option.
I have to tell you, it was difficult to find any and I found way less than I expected. I kept thinking, where are these people? After all, we live in one of the biggest metroplexes in the nation. AND, not only that, but we live in TEXAS. Hello?!
I did fine a few options. Some were out of control, crazy expensive. Some were too far. But, I did find one that looked like a possibility. www.beefnaturally.com So, I made contact and then waited and THEN I found out we were pregnant and so much went on the back burner including this.
Recently, I got an email that said they were taking orders for an upcoming delivery. And I took the plunge! Ordered 25 lbs of ground beef grown naturally with no pesticides, antibiotics, or other unidentifiable stuff. I was so excited. I'd have the freezer stocked for a while, have a healthy product, AND support our local economy. Rock On!
Today was the day! We'll call it B Day....Beef Day. Picked it up, the whole wad! Brought it home and put it in the freezer (with one in the fridge to thaw for upcoming yumminess).
I meant to take my camera and get a picture of Jim and his sweet wife, BUT at the last minute Dane was fussing and my brain went out the window. I remembered AS I was driving up to the drop location. So, I missed that photo op, but snapped a pic of my happy freezer drawer.
